If someone is in immediate danger

Contact local emergency services now. HeatMap Support is not an emergency service and cannot provide an immediate physical response.

Before you go

  • Check the venue, event time, transport, and a safe way home.
  • Tell a trusted person where you are going and when you expect to return.
  • Charge your phone and keep important contacts available.
  • Remember that Going, Maybe, and Inside are social signals—not guarantees that someone will attend or remain at a venue.

Meeting someone from HeatMap

  • Meet in a public, staffed place and arrange your own transport.
  • Keep personal information private until you are comfortable.
  • Do not feel pressured to meet, drink, share a location, or continue a conversation.
  • Leave and contact someone you trust if the situation feels wrong.

Identity and age

HeatMap is for adults aged 18 and older, but HeatMap does not currently verify every user’s age or identity. A profile, message, friend connection, or Inside signal is not proof of who someone is.

Location and crowd signals

Shared location visibility is limited to friends and can be disabled. Review your friend list and sharing choices regularly.

Inside confirms a check-in near a venue during valid hours. HeatMap does not currently know exactly when every user leaves, so Inside is not a live occupancy count or safety rating.

Block and report

Do not engage if you feel unsafe. Block the account and report abusive, threatening, deceptive, or inappropriate behavior. Preserve relevant details when it is safe to do so.

Use the “Safety concern” or “Report a user” topic in the support form. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information.

Venue and event information

Event details may be entered manually and can change. HeatMap is not an official operator of every venue or listing. Confirm critical details with the venue and report inaccurate information through support.

Further help

Review the Community Guidelines for prohibited behavior. For a non-urgent safety concern connected to HeatMap, contact support. For immediate danger or a crime in progress, use the appropriate local emergency service.
